Viva Joint, Back & Mobility Care

Viva Joint, Back & Mobility Care helps adults in Doral with joint, back, and neck pain. That includes knee and hip arthritis, tendon and overuse injuries, gout, and pain that spreads across the body.

About this program

You can book an in-person visit at our Doral clinic. A provider asks how the pain started and checks the area. You also talk about how it affects your work, sleep, and daily life.

Many common problems can be managed in primary care. Exercise, activity changes, weight support, and the right medication classes are often the first steps. Joint injections and shockwave therapy may be discussed for selected problems; confirm provider, method, supplies, location, and cost before nonurgent procedures.

The Joint Injections and Shockwave Therapy pages on our main site explain each one. Gout and widespread pain each get their own plan, because they are different problems. Sometimes joints are swollen, warm, and stiff in a way that suggests inflammation.

Those findings need selected testing and timely rheumatology assessment when indicated. When you need X-rays, MRI, or physical therapy, we set them up with outside services when indicated; confirm access and acceptance. Bring a list of your medicines and any past images.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an X-ray before my first visit?

No. Most visits start with your story and a hands-on exam, and many cases of back pain or osteoarthritis do not need imaging right away. If your provider thinks an X-ray or MRI would change the plan, it is coordinated with an outside imaging center. Bring any prior images or reports so they can be reviewed at your visit.

What can help knee or hip arthritis?

Many people start with regular joint-friendly exercise, strength work, weight support when it applies, and medication classes such as pain relievers or anti-inflammatory medicines matched to their health. Selected patients may also discuss joint injections. Your provider explains each option and its limits, and coordinates an orthopedic visit when pain or function suggests surgery may be worth considering.

Are joint injections and shockwave therapy available here?

The website lists joint injections and shockwave therapy. Assessment does not establish procedure availability. Discuss suitability, benefits, risks, and alternatives with your provider. Confirm procedure, trained provider, supplies, location, cost, and follow-up before nonurgent work. Results vary.

How is gout different from widespread pain?

Gout is a type of arthritis caused by uric acid crystals in a joint. It often causes sudden, intense swelling, commonly in the big toe. Persistent widespread pain affects many areas of the body over months and calls for a different plan focused on daily function. Your provider evaluates each one separately so the plan matches the problem you have.

When should swollen joints be checked quickly?

Book promptly if several joints stay swollen or warm, or feel stiff for more than an hour in the morning, especially in the hands or wrists. These patterns can suggest inflammatory arthritis, where early rheumatology care matters. One hot, red joint with fever is different and more urgent: call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Can I have a video visit for joint or back pain?

No. Joint, back, and neck visits are in person at our Doral clinic, because these problems need a hands-on exam. This program does not offer video visits.

Urgent symptoms

  • Back pain with new leg weakness, numbness in the groin or inner thighs, or loss of bladder or bowel control
  • A hot, red, swollen joint with fever or chills
  • Obvious deformity, inability to bear weight, or numbness after an injury
  • Severe pain after a major fall, car crash, or other trauma
  • Fever with spreading redness after a joint injection
  • For any of these, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Call 911 for a life-threatening emergency.

When we refer

Some problems need a specialist soon. Swollen, warm joints with long morning stiffness that suggest inflammatory arthritis are referred early to rheumatology, without waiting for every test or repeated rounds of treatment. Back pain with new leg weakness, a suspected fracture or tendon tear, or a severe loss of function goes promptly to orthopedics or the right specialist. If surgery may help, your provider coordinates that evaluation.
